Opening The Door To Waterfront Living
Open spaces with expansive water views - achieved with a full suite of G.James windows and doors.
Recently recognised at the 2026 Gold Coast Master Builders Awards, the Wingspan Home in Mermaid Waters showcases a contemporary architectural design that takes full advantage of its waterfront setting.
Designed by Jayson Pate Design and constructed by PJH Constructions, the award-winning home utilises refined material selections to create a warm, sophisticated ambience that marries well with the coastal surroundings. The facade is elevated using Oslo stone walling, complemented by French Walnut Knotwood batten while the interior incorporates flowing curves through the staircase and feature glazing.

Where Planning Meets Precision
One of the most complex aspects of the project was delivering the striking two-storey curved glazing. Achieving this outcome required a strong collaboration between G.James and PJH Constructions from the very early stages. The curved glazing geometry, measuring 2718mm wide at each level, was established during the design phase, with the building structure then carefully constructed around the glazing to ensure precise alignment and maintain the integrity of the architectural intent.
Installation presented its own set of challenges. Given the scale of the units, weighing up to 114kg, and the site's narrow access constraints, extensive planning and coordination were essential throughout the delivery. The curved windows were delivered in three large-scale sections, carefully positioned on site and seamlessly put together with silicone-glazed vertical joints. The result is a striking architectural statement that has become one of the home's defining features, maximising natural light and complementing the home's contemporary design.

Delivering an Award-Winning Home
Through detailed planning, technical expertise, and ongoing coordination, the Wingspan Home made its way to achieving the 2026 Gold Coast Master Builders Award in the individual home category. We thank all the project partners for entrusting G.James Windows & Doors and we look forward to continually delivering outstanding outcomes like this across the Gold Coast region.
