Building Community at Yamba Library and Community Centre

G.James has partnered with Bennett Constructions on the recently completed Yamba Library and Community Centre, a new civic space designed to connect and enrich the Clarence Valley region.

Building Community at Yamba Library and Community Centre

This contemporary facility delivers far more than a library. With over 16,000 books, eight multipurpose rooms, a youth zone, art exhibition area, and community kitchen, the centre brings people together through learning, creativity, and shared experiences. Its welcoming, inclusive design aims to support all ages and interests, while also strengthening ties across the local community.

To help realise the architectural vision, G.James supplied and installed a comprehensive glazing package across the site. Our scope included:

These systems were selected for aesthetics and performance, as well as accessibility, energy efficiency, and comfort for visitors throughout the day.

Located on the grounds of the existing Treelands Drive Community Centre, the new building integrates with nearby facilities such as the TAFE NSW Connected Learning Centre and Yamba Community Health. The result is a purpose-built precinct that enhances liveability and services in this fast-growing coastal town.

Officially opened in July 2025, the project was jointly funded by the Australian and NSW Governments through the Bushfire Local Economic Recovery Fund, alongside Clarence Valley Council. It created dozens of jobs during construction and now supports ongoing local employment through programming and services.
